UPDATE: This may have been the most jovial Friends of Canada (FoC) ‘Canada Night’ to date. Spirits were high when Ambassador Morrill cut the official vasilopita, along with the embassy’s Political Counsellor, Debbie Desrosiers, its Common Services representative, Marie-Helen Xynogalas, and FoC coordinator Kathryn Lukey-Coutsocostas. The winner of the lucky coin (flouri) was not discovered, so let’s say everybody won! The lucky winner of the individual vasilopitas was young, new member Theodore Rizopoulos – may he have a terrific 2018.
Following our FoC tradition, we each wrote down a New Year’s resolution – 8 lucky winners got door prizes (and a whole pizzeria full of witnesses) to resolutions like ‘I will give up smoking’ and ‘I will learn Greek and speak more French to my two little boys.’
Before we all left, our FoC Welfare Network (in collaboration with the Salvation Army) collected the personal hygiene products generously brought for families and youngsters in need.

FoC sincerely says THANK YOU to the following:
