UPDATE: A tight-knit group of more than twenty left our Hellenic Canadian Friendship Association/Friends of Canada ‘Christmas Carol Sing-along’ feeling ‘warm and fuzzy’ on December 7. After brief welcomes from Honorary Consul of Canada, Pantelis Petmezas, and the network coordinator, Kathryn Lukey-Coutsocostas, we sang Christmas carols and enjoyed Christmas cheer. This included guests generously donating dry food items for the impoverished, disabled elderly of ‘Kapi’ – and a lucky door prize winner receiving a Canadian book courtesy of the Canadian embassy.
Special thanks to the Canadian Embassy (for the door prize), to the Honorary Consul of Canada, Pantelis Petmezas, & Dora Petmezas (for attending), to Anna Angelidou-Polychroniadou, member of city council/president of ‘Kapi’ (ΚΑΠΗ), Thessaloniki, (for facilitating the food donation distribution) and to the venue sponsor les amis coffee bar (for hosting us, with a discount).
Thanks also to Tolia Anastasiadou, Director, S. T. Kapi (ΚΑΠΗ), Thessaloniki (Harilaou). The donations will be added to their Christmas food bank, packaged up, and distributed to the elderly in need.
